Bio:

Gov. Thompson was a state legislator in Wisconsin, and 42nd Governor of Wisconsin from 1987 to 2001, making him the longest serving governor in the state’s history. He later served as the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services from 2001–05, appointed by George W. Bush. After his time in the Bush Administration, Thompson became a partner in the law-firm Akin Gump, and Independent Chairman of Deloitte’s Center for Health Solutions. He has served on the board of 22 other organizations.
